Car glazes: what they are and how to use them in car polishing

CAR GLAZES: WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW TO USE THEM IN CAR POLISHING

What aspect defines the need for an action?

Within the polishing process, glaze, like G1 Glossy, is definitely an optional step, but if you are looking for something that can give additional intensity and shine to the paint, it is for you.

Glazes are polishes that release, once applied, special oils, kaolins or other substances that can mask minor defects in the bodywork and at the same time greatly increase color gloss. Thanks to its composition based on the latest generation of nanopolymers, G1 Glossy is also able to protect, increasing the brilliance of the bodywork, giving a pleasant "silk" effect even when applied on light colors - where it is notoriously more complicated to obtain a perfect finish result - or it is used when in a short time you want to re-establish a perfect finish without affecting the clear coat.

When combined with a sealer, it is recommended to apply G1 Glossy only after the sealer; this way you will not lose in terms of protection and will still achieve excellent results in terms of color vividness. The sealer and wax still protect very well but for a shorter time than the glaze so we recommend applying the latter always after using a sealer, not before.

In case of swirls and obvious scratches, G1 Glossy is not the optimal product and it would be advisable to invest in a high-performance polish such as A1 All In One.

Glaze: always and gladly

G1 Glossy can be used whenever it is deemed necessary to enhance the natural shine of a body shop and make it shine with its own light; in fact, it is neither harmful nor abrasive to surfaces, since it is a latest-generation product with a nanopolymer component.

Great to apply at the end of a wash, at the return of a vehicle or whenever you want to make a vehicle shine with a new light, as if it had just come out of the dealership, giving new light and intensity to the paint.

We recommend applying G1 Glossy at the end of each wash, immediately after the polishing phase and necessarily after decontaminating and washing the surface with clay bar.

Remember that for optimum effect, it would be good to apply the glaze only after the sealant or wax (such as SC0 Hydro Sealant) and having waited the drying time.

In this way the sealant will be in direct contact with the bodywork, this will ensure greater durability.

Glaze application guide: quick and easy

The only pad we would recommend for applying G1 Glossy by polisher is the black, soft Innovacar by Fra-Ber pad; however, due to its incredible formulation G1 Glossy can also be applied by hand being easily workable and not requiring single-panel application.

Random orbital polisher.

  1. Choose the appropriate backing pad and centre the black pad.
  2. Apply three generous drops of product, forming a triangle at the end of the pad.
  3. Outline a working surface, preferably 60cm x 60cm in size.
  4. Switch on the polisher at a low speed (1-3) and distribute the glaze over the entire area.
  5. Start polishing the bodywork from a corner of the plotted surface, increasing the polisher speed to 4.
  6. Ideally, a 3kg weight should be placed on the polisher head during the operation.
  7. Work in a controlled manner with constant movement from corner to corner 4cm-8cm per second.
  8. Repeat the same operation in the opposite direction.
  9. Continue by spreading the glaze over the entire surface.
  10. Proceed with a second polishing of the area but in the opposite direction.
  11. Switch off the polisher once this step has been completed.
  12. Finish with our special Micron Buffing cloth and remove excess product.
Repeat all the steps on the rest of the vehicle until an optimal result is achieved.

Rotary polisher.
  1. Choose the appropriate backing pad to attach to the polisher and centre the black pad.
  2. Apply three generous drops of product, forming a triangle at the end of the pad.
  3. Outline a working surface, preferably 60cm x 60cm in size.
  4. Distribute the product evenly with the polisher switched off.
  5. Switch on the polisher at a low speed (1-3) and distribute the glaze over the entire area.
  6. Increase the speed of the polisher to medium level (we recommend between 700 and 900 rpm).
  7. Do not exceed the pressure on the polisher.
  8. Move the polisher in a controlled manner from corner to corner (5-10 cm per second).
  9. Repeat the same operation in the opposite direction.
  10. Spread glaze over the entire surface in this way.
  11. Proceed with a second polishing of the area but in the opposite direction.
  12. Switch off the polisher once this step has been completed.
  13. Finish with our special Micron Buffing cloth and remove excess product.
Repeat all the steps on the rest of the vehicle until an optimal result is achieved.

Manual application.
  1. Place two generous drops of product inside our ergonomic Foam App applicator.
  2. Outlining a work area of 60x60 cm: G1 Glossy is an excellent product because it dries slowly and is easily removable, allowing you to work easily on even large surfaces.
  3. Spread G1 Glossy evenly over the entire surface.
  4. Slowly penetrate the product, using controlled, circular movements.
  5. Wait two minutes and remove excess product with our special Micron Buffing Cloth perfectly clean.
  6. Repeat the operation until the bodywork has been completely treated.

Notes and tips for using car glazes.

  • With G1 Glossy you can significantly increase the brightness and shine of your car body and maintain its silky effect for a couple of washes.
  • The effect of G1 Glossy is temporary, especially on small bodywork defects. For this reason, to restore the surface of the bodywork in an excellent way, we recommend following the instructions in our polishing guide.
  • G1 Glossy is ideal for masking only minor bodywork imperfections.
  • G1 Glossy is suitable for application on all body parts, even mouldings and plastic parts.

What else to apply after G1 Glossy? Absolutely nothing. The effect of G1 Glossy will give a unique shine to the bodywork, making it, in every sense, a definitive treatment.
