What is Car Detailing: What it means and how it works
The detailed, step-by-step action.
The cleaning, polishing and maintenance aimed at aesthetically and structurally safeguarding the finish of the most diverse surfaces, interior and exterior, of motorcycles and cars.
Metal, fabric, wood, leather, plastic, rubber. To each material correspond precise procedures and specific products, discovered, studied and developed from pure passion and technological research aimed at achieving unparalleled results.
What does car detailing represent for us? The improvement of performance, optimization of results and minimization of time to achieve them. This is why using Fra-Ber's new Detailing line, Innovacar, means participating in the discovery of new horizons that only the latest patented technologies can open wide.
How car detailing works: The phases of car detailing.
Depending on the specific case, techniques, equipment, quantities of product and objectives may vary. What is constant are the 5 phases of a Detailing job:
Careful execution of each of these steps makes the next one more effective and long-lasting.
1. Car washing in car detailing
The first step is the scrupulous washing of interior and exterior surfaces in order to remove various residues and surface contaminations (road dirt, insect residues, surface contaminations, etc...). No surface is left out and no substrate forgotten: glass, tires, chrome but also leather interiors, plastics and moldings will be carefully cleaned to prepare a perfect working base.
At Innovacar we implement a two-step process, called "double cleaning," beginning with a prewash using our SP1 Prewash, which removes any stubborn dirt that could damage surfaces if mechanical action were required. Consequently, through the use of S2 Foamy shampoo, it is possible to clean and remove any impurities and organic dirt with the help of a glove, sponge, etc...
The constant is always one, the utmost care for the surfaces we work on.
2. Car decontamination in car detailing
Decontamination, although often overlooked, is probably the most important stage in the process, as it enables the surface to be better able to accommodate the subsequent treatment stages. Its task is to act on residues such as resins, iron, tar, glue or oxidation that the washing phase has not been able to eliminate and that make the surface not very smooth and silky. The result? A car that looks as good and shiny as if it had just rolled off the assembly line.
3. Car polishing in car detailing
It often happens that we see cars, even those that have already undergone polishing, that have halos, holograms, marks, or whatever. Just as often this is believed to be inevitable, or in any case normal. Nothing could be more untrue, all it takes is using the right techniques and products. Polishing allows us not only to remove oxidation and scratches, but also to obtain a perfectly smooth, shiny surface ready for the actual treatment.
If this stage were not carried out carefully and carefully, even the best nanotechnology product would inexorably give unsatisfactory results.
Whether we are talking about a car, a motorcycle, an RV or a boat, it is important to first define the situation, developing, depending on one's budget, the best, most effective and fastest solution.
4. Car protection in car detailing
Even the best of work on interior or exterior surfaces will have a limited lifespan if left unprotected.
The choice of which treatment to proceed with depends strongly on your goals for durability, gloss, and ease of maintenance. From these considerations we can determine whether a wax, sealant treatment or coating (ceramic) is more suitable. Resistance to UV light, aging, air pollution or water, dirt and scratches? The high customizability of this step allows us to decide this together!
5. Car maintenance in car detailing
Your car is treated and ready! but how long will the treatment effect last?
Through a few but valuable treatments with balanced cleaners, quick detailer lubricants and gentle accessories, maintaining maximum performance will be a matter of a few simple and quick moves.
